Being a professional mechanic, designer, and fabricator I would fabricate my own fire pokers so that I could have the coolest poker at the fire pit. The story was always the same, I seemed to be the only one who remembered to put my fire poker in the race trailer. So as the night wore on I would get to poke the fire and tell my stories, but every time I set my poker down to go grab myself another cold one I’d come back to see someone using my poker for themselves! Let’s face it everybody likes to poke around on a fire! My wife would look at me in amusement as my anxiety grew while watching the poker make its way around the fire pit until it eventually was back in my hands. One night she made a great suggestion, “Honey why don’t you just build a set and everyone can pick their own poker?” And just like that Pick-A-Poker was born.
